CHIROMISSION FAQ'S
1) Are you a religious group and when you say Mission Trip do you mean this in a religious way?
It is our sole intention to Give and Serve these people through the science art and philosophy of Chiropractic. We do not shut anyone out of the Mission trip and we therefore do not preach any specific religious preference. It is our opinion that every human has in them, the ability to Give, Love and Serve.
2) Are you NOT FOR PROFIT and do you make money off of these trips for yourselves?
Ever since ChiroMission started, we have not made one dollar of profit. It has always been our intention to take any excess funds and donate them to the people we serve. We get paid in other ways. The Universe has provided us with wonderful lives and beautiful and healthy families. Currently we are making use of our friends at the UCF (Universal Chiropractic Foundation) to facilitate not for profit donations. We donate 100% of the funds we receive to the charities and causes in the third world countries.
3) How much does the trip cost?
The trip is priced perfectly to accommodate all your needs except your flight. You are responsible for getting to and from POP (Puerto Plata Airport) in the Dominican Republic. Typical flights cost around $400 round trip and the flight is about 3 ½ hours. Outside of this expense everything is ALL INCLUSIVE. Early registration is $950 which includes (Transportation while on the island, Food and Drink, Resort Stay, Face Your Fears Challenge with Guides, Seminar with guest speaker and the experience of a life time. We provide you with many valuable items to take home and keep with your forever.
4) Should I bring a table and do we adjust only seated Cervicals?
We do encourage our attendees to bring tables with them. However, we want to remind you that it is about the people. Some locations will produce thousands of people with only two docs on site. You need to be able to process these people with care, and the right intent. We call this DELIVERING THE GOODS! That being said, if you adjust full spine you will not be able to see everyone and we all know where the power comes from. Therefore, 90% of adjusting is seated upper cervical.
5) Do we get a break or do we adjust all day?
We typically send everyone in small teams to different locations throughout the island and pick up times are early in the morning after a quick breakfast. You will visit several sites throughout the day and see anywhere from 100 to 2,000 in volume. Obviously, the high volume sites have less time off. However, all sites will break for a wonderful and traditional Dominican/Haitian meal and you will be treated with the highest level of care. This is often a memorable experience and you will make some lifetime friends in your guides and translators. These are amazing people. We all get back by 5pm to 6pm and meet for dinner prior to lectures and going out to have some fun.
6) When Should we Arrive?
There aren’t many flights coming into Puerto Plata so you will probably be on a plane with many people from all over the country and world. We recommend you arrive in the early afternoon on the Wednesday and depart for home on Sunday afternoon. Many people decide to arrive or stay a few extra days. We can arrange to book extra days for you at the reduced “Local Rate” we get at the resort. The resort is nice and the beach is beautiful. We recommend you enjoy some decompression time in this paradise.
7) Can Students Attend?
Attention DC Students: It is ChiroMission's intent to serve the less fortunate with nothing but the "Goods". The ChiroMission experience is not a time for DC students to "Practice Adjusting" on people. As we intend to show the world the magic of the Chiropractic adjustment we have created a NEW REQUIREMENT for DC students. All DC students are welcome to come on ChiroMission trips yet we are only inviting those students that have PASSED THEIR CLINIC PROFICIENCY ENTRANCE to perform adjustments under the supervision of licensed DC's. It is time we up the Antie and provide the Goods.
8) Do we need extra money?
Other than a few hundred dollars for spending on gifts for home or if you go off site for dinner and dancing/casinos, you will only need $10 to purchase a visitors card at the airport when you arrive. We recommend you have this $10 on you for the flight to the DR so you don’t need to scramble when you get there.
9) How Should I dress?
As you can imagine, it does get hot in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Therefore we recommend you bring several pairs of shorts and T-Shirts. We will provide you with one official ChiroMission T-Shirt but you will need more. Pack a bathing for the pool and ocean. Bring a pair of sneakers and sandals for they are both the footwear of choice in the field and you will need Teva like sandals for the waterfall challenge. There are some fun discos to check out at night and you may want to bring clothes to go out in yet it is still hot.
10) Can I Do The Waterfall Challenge?
Much of the Waterfall Challenge and Face Your Fears challenge is kept a secret as the surprise is much of the experience. What we can tell you is that it is as challenging as you wish to make it. We have a team of seasoned guides from the island that are 100% committed to your safety and you can count on them. If you wish to go on the challenge and take it easy you can always stay behind and wait for the group to return. For those that like to play BIG, the Waterfall Challenge has all you can handle. For this reason, ChiroMission plays no part in your decision to partake and going on the Waterfall challenge is done on your own accord. We love it, and you are welcome to join us if you like. Teva like shoes are best for the challenge and if you do not have proper foot attire we will rent you some shoes at the falls. You will also get suited up with a life vest and helmet which are included at no expense to you. We will travel to the falls in a bus early Thursday morning and return for the press conference and donation ceremony.
11) How many people are going and how many people will we adjust?
The April trip is our biggest effort to date. We have over 60 participants and we have almost 25 locations to serve. As for the adjusting we recommend you take your mind off of the volume and think about how many people you will help reach their potential. Some locations will have as little as 100 people and others 4,000 per day. We expect to see between 30,000 and 40,000 in 2 ½ days on this trip.
