ChiroMission Leaders
Many knock but few enter! We have had the honor and privelege to see hundreds of wonderful human beings come through the ranks and we will never forget any of them. However, it is plain to see that everyone has a breakthrough and great experience on ChiroMission yet certain people get struck by lightning! They see this work as their true calling and frankly we couldn't get rid of them if we tried! Both JC and Todd will tell yiou that we couldn't do this without their help, support and friendship. This page of "Lightning Bolts" is a small way that we may honor them all for their service to humanity.
ChiroMission is very excited to announce the addition of our Mission Leaders. Our leaders will help this organization achieve its ultimate goal of providing drug-free Chiropractic care all over the world. When on a Mission, it 's very important to have seasoned ChiroMissionairies who know the ins & outs of the process. These individuals also embrace the "Give and Receive" philosophy.
Aura Tovar, DC | Chief Operating Officer, CM Team Member, Educational Coordinator, ChiroMissionary
I have been practicing in Miami for the last 10 years and have always wanted to be involved in spreading the healing touch of chiropractic to other countries. Faith brought me to ChiroMission and the trip of a lifetime, making me realize more could be done outside our comfort zones.
Chiropractic has always been a calling for me and like must of the things in my life faith has always played an important role. I always knew I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others especially in a Latin country, for it is very rooted in my soul. Therefore, by God’s free will ChiroMission happen in my life and it was an unbelievable experience that changed me forever. I met Todd and JC and knew I could work with them to better help serve the Dominican people. I am very blessed to be part of this awesome team and the great changes ChiroMission will bring to the Dominican Republic’s healthcare system.

John Palmer | CM Team Member, Student Ambassador, ChiroMissionary
I'm a upper quarter student at Life Chiropractic College in Marietta Georgia. I have had the amazing opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic and Haiti several times over the past two years. I continue to return because I see millions of people that need a new healthcare model. Each mission trip we get to educate tens of thousands of Dominicans and Haitians about Chiropractic, and we move a little closer to spreading the knowledge of the amazing healing capacity of the human body.
In the past I would arrive in the Dominican or Haiti with expectations of how the trip would turn out. Those expectations are consistently shattered because I would witness something that would rock me to my core. These experiences are valuable to me as a Chiropractor because it makes me conscious that the world I live in is not perfect. There are many people to be helped. We as Chiropractors have the awesome responsibility to make sure that everyone in the world is educated about Chiropractic. I think it should be in the curriculum in every chiropractic college to attend at least one chiropractic mission trip. It has changed my path in chiropractic and I'm very grateful.
On my first mission trip I wondered how I would pay for the expense of the mission trip. As a student I knew my money was limited but I felt this was a worthy expense. The money I raised was nothing compared to the knowledge and experience I gained from that first mission trip. If you choose to become a ChiroMissionary prepare to be challenged and over come those challenges. If I can help with any questions you have as a student or Chiropractor I would be grateful to answer them. My email is

Dr Jason Gerard: CM Team leader, Chiromissionary
ChiroMission has forever changed my life on how I view my practice, my life, and how I serve people everyday. At the same time, I have gotten the chance to experience a piece of the true essence of what we deliver through chiropractic with our hands and our heart. I am often known for the one who's sent on rogue missions to "parts unknown", only to come back with stories only novels could describe. I could tell you of the 8 year old with the dislocated shoulder who can now use it again, the paraplegic who's feeling in his hands has returned for the first time after one adjustment, or the doctor in the surgery room who's daily headaches went away for the first time in years and made every nurse near him get adjusted before their next surgery could begin... but we all have those stories, that's just a day in the life of a ChiroMissionary serving.
Back home, I run a family-based, wellness-based, correction-based, cash-based office serving thousands in Mn. Spreading the message of chiropractic is my passion, and leading a community to true health and wellness is my goal. As the great Reggie Gold once said, "The hottest place in hell is reserved for those who knew, but didn't tell." Just tell the story... we have a powerful one. Hope to see you on the mission field soon!

Dr. Josh Handt | CM Team Member, Mission Leader, ChiroMissionary
My Purpose is to serve the community with the safest, smartest, and most beneficial form of healthcare on the planet. To educate the community about the best doctor in the world; the one that resides within. My Mission is to be the catalyst that allows the human body to connect to that inner wisdom so that it can function, perform, and heal through optimal levels through Chiropractic.
A 2006 Graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida. Dr. Josh Handt has spent his first three years growing his practice through community outreach, and community education. Dr. Josh has lectured to the NYPD, NYC public school system, and multiple corporations on the meaning of true health. As a second generation Chiropractor, he brings new energy to an already established practice with his father, Dr. Jay Handt.
ChiroMission has become a part of my life because it fits with my life’s purpose. Being able to share the gift of chiropractic to those who are less fortunate is such a pleasure to me. Being able to give, love, and serve for the sake of giving, loving and, serving through Chiropractic enables us to bring this world to a higher place.
Being able to give, give, and give your all on ChiroMission allow you to receive so much. For each of you who come, your life will be different when that plane lands in your hometown. You will evolve!
Courtney Gray, DC | CM Team Member, Mission Leader, ChiroMissionary
I have known for a long time that I wanted to be a Chiropractor – it wasn’t until my first mission trip in October 2009 that I fully understood the type of Chiropractor I wanted to be. I graduate in July 2010 (from NYCC) with the understanding that there are many ways to practice Chiropractic, but to live a life as a Chiropractor you must be completely engaged in service, taking steps to leave the world a better place than you found it. Being involved with ChiroMission has been a huge influence in helping me get to this distinction, and integrate it into all parts of my life. Your practice allows you to serve & make a difference in your community; ChiroMission allows you to make a change in the world.
Since I’ve joined ChiroMission I’ve watched it explode into an organization of total service. Not only do we provide the opportunity for people to live a life free of interference, but we now provide food, water, clothes, supplies and housing to those most in need. I’m excited to join ChiroMission, and this amazing group of people, to continue expanding, exploring and giving. I hope you will join us on our next trip!
Alice Nguyen, DC | Mission Leader, ChiroMissionary Alice Nguyen joins us from Sydney, Australia, and graduated from Macquarie University in 2009. She had her first ChiroMission experience as a student which has inspired her to continue serving in disadvantaged areas including Indigenous communities across Australia, and more recently in a field hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti. In 2010 she became a director for "Hands on Health Australia", a non-profit organization, in which she co-led a chiropractic mission trip to the Philippines. She hopes to connect chiropractors from Australia and the US to expand ChiroMission's universal vision.
"My first ChiroMission experience moved my inner being. I was in awe of these beautiful people of the Dominican Republic who possess so little yet have so much to offer in their hearts. Seeing first hand the positive difference Chiropractic has made in their lives set the tone for what I wanted to do and how I wanted to live my own life. I remember CM's important message of 'staying in mission mode no matter where you are', and this became my intent when I returned home- to continue to serve, to share, to love and to have fun while doing so. I look back now and can't believe how much has happened since then! Intent is a powerful and magical thing. When you combine that with the adjustment for the greater good, miracles can happen, in your life and in those you touch. CM's vision is actually bigger than chiropractic itself...I'm excited to move forward together with this amazing team and meeting future missionaries along the way!
Jason O'Connor, DC | Mission Leader, ChiroMissionary
Dr. Jason O’Connor graduated with honors from Life Chiropractic College West in 1999 as the sole recipient of the LCCW Clinical Excellence Citation. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his beautiful wife and 4 awesome children. His involvement with ChiroMission began on the 3rd mission to the Dominican Republic. Stumbling across a Chiropractic Journal article which highlighted the previous mission’s work, Dr. O’Connor immediately registered to participate.
Jason has a history of seeking opportunities to give service. At age 19, he dedicated two years of service in the Dominican Republic as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With that background and his love for the Dominican people, he has now found another way to give back - using his talents and skill as a Chiropractor.
"I always try to be engaged in good causes. Each time I return with ChiroMission, I am reminded of the lessons learned in the DR years ago, such as, unconditional love, exercising faith, true happiness, the importance of family values, and having fun. I can’t wait to see what each of you will take away from your experience with us. My goal is to be a spark that ignites a cascade of events creating positive change. The power of choose lies within each individual, and when we collectively choose to do more good and focus our energy on a common worthy cause, then the results will surpass our wildest imaginations.”
Dr. Jason Brown | CM Team Member, Mission Leader, ChiroMissionary
My name is Jason Brown and I have been a part of ChiroMission since October of 2007. I will graduate from Life University in December 2008 and plan to open practice in Scottsdale, Arizona sometime in 2009. I was a student when I began ChiroMission and was very apprehensive to go on a trip to a third world country, but I went for two reasons: to get my hands on a lot of people and to enjoy a nice vacation in tropical paradise. It wasn’t until I was on a mission that I understood the real reason I was there: to serve the loving Dominican people. I was overwhelmed with not only their acceptance of Chiropractic but also their want to show you appreciation for your service. They will give you everything when they have nothing. Now, when I head down to the DR I look so much more forward to giving to the people than I actually do about anything else. I find that the more present I am and the more I give to them, the more I get in return. I am blessed to have been called to be in this amazing profession and look forward to continuing serving the people of the WORLD, because who knows what the power of just one adjustment can do?!?!

Dr. Danielle Drobbin | CM Team Member, Mission Leader, ChiroMissionary
I have grown up in chiropractic my whole life. My dad is a chiropractor who has been practicing for 30 years and who has thankfully made chiropractic a way of life for me and my whole family. I currently practice in Atlanta, GA.
I have been with ChiroMission since October 2007, and have since then dedicated myself to the organization. Every time I travel to the Dominican Republic I become more spiritually connected within myself as well as with chiropractic. Even though I grew up living a chiropractic lifestyle, I never truly understood the power of an adjustment until I went on my first mission trip. I go to the DR with the intention to only give, but what I receive in my life is far greater than anything I could ever expect. I know that I was put on this earth to be a chiropractor and affect as many lives as possible through the power of love and touch. Throughout these trips I continually see the amount of poverty that has stricken this country, and what I can’t help but notice even more is the abundance of love and kindness that radiates from these people. It is through these experiences that I have learned to focus on what is good and right in my life rather than what is negative and wrong. Thank you ChiroMission for I am forever changed.
